Did you know that we have a sister school in Mexico? We were thrilled on Thursday morning to welcome two teachers and the director of Eagle College, an elementary Christian school in Miguel Aleman, Mexico. Children in grades preschool through sixth grade attend this school. There are close to the same number of students at Eagle College as we have at South Side, but these students' living conditions are very different from our reality. We are eager to be used by God to bless and to be blessed by our new friends at Eagle College as we begin to form relationships with these special students.

Kevin Kammeraad
We will welcome local author, Kevin Kammeraad so South Side on Tuesday, October 21st, from 10:30-11:30. Kevin visited us last year with his friends and music that produced lots of giggles and smiles among students (and staff). His program inspires creativity and "outside of the box" thinking in our children.

Grandparents/Grandfriends’
Day
This special day is just around the corner! Our South Side event will be held on Thursday, October 9, beginning at 10:15in your child’s classroom. Grandparents/friends will be invited to participate in activities with their grandchild in the classrooms at 10:15. We’ll have a coffee and cookie break for our special friends at 10:45, followed by a wonderful program at 11:00. Invitations will be sent home today with students. We look forward to greeting our special guests in October.

Here is what's happening in preschool:
1. Enrichment classes are in full swing and if you have a student 3-5 years old we would love to have you join us. Please visit hollandchristian.org/
2. Preschool will be participating in Grandparent's Day. Please review the scheduled times for each class:
- October 2 – RP Grandparents Day @ 10 AM (Threeschool, Preschool & Young Fives)
- October 3 – RP Grandparents Day @ 10 AM (T/F 3s)
- October 8 - SS Grandparents Day @ 2 PM (Afternoon Preschool Class ONLY)
- October 9 – SS Grandparents Day @ 9 AM (Threeschool, Preschool & Young Fives)
- October 10 – SS Grandparents Day @ 10 AM (Preschool 2day)
3. Young Fives Families - you will have an opportunity to meet with your child's teacher during Parent Teacher Conferences on October 21. Sign up for this conference will be done through your child's teacher. Please look for more information on this coming home soon.
4. Families in 3's and 4's will have an opportunity to meet with your child's teacher in January for a parent teacher conference. Please remember that our staff's doors are always open so if you have questions or just want to check please feel free to ask.
5. Dads please reserve November 4 (Rose Park) and November 6 (South Side) for our annual preschool Father's Night event. We will begin at 6:30 PM - look for more information to come home in the next couple of weeks.
